There are a number of low-cost tax helplines on the market which provide short informal telephone advice. These are perfect for straightforward queries or second opinions where you are not intending to rely on the advice received. 

However, they are not suitable for complex problems or issues where you need to take action based on the advice received.

When you need to rely on advice

Telephone advice alone, by its very nature, can never be a satisfactory basis for formal professional advice. So, if you need to rely formally on the advice received it has to be provided in writing. However, we always offer an initial free of charge informal telephone conversation on any issue where formal advice is potentially required.

Informal advice, second opinions, and teleconferences

Sometimes you need to discuss a problem without taking formal advice. We are happy to provide telephone support to whatever level you require.  We often hold teleconferences where clients and advisors can all join the discussion, which can be an efficient alternative to meetings.
